A recent research report on first-time IELTS test-takers in China revealed that 60% of them do not achieve their target score. Last week, EQEnglish released 31 High-Scoring Formulas to Answer Every IELTS Question.

A global research conducted by the British Council revealed that the main reason behind test-takers in China not performing in their oral and written tests is due to a non-native language environment. For the past few years, the average score (in the Chinese market) for both oral and written tests were lower than the global average.

Adrian explained that the book is a result of EQEnglish’s research team conducting an intensive analysis covering over 50,000 recordings, and came up with these highly effective Formulas. The Formulas include “answer orders” that tell the student what to say and “answer steps” that tell them how to say it.

Also, most Chinese students prepare for their (IELTS) exams through impractical methods such as memorizing previous test questions or rely on predicted test questions; often without knowing how to tactfully construct their answers by listening and dissecting questions asked by the examiner.

Currently, EQEnglish is also giving away a free online speaking test evaluation to those who purchase the book. The evaluation test results will feature customized feedback and suggestions based on the learner’s English speaking capabilities, giving learners a better understanding on what they should improve on.
